President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for strict caution regarding the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), warning that AI must never be allowed to dominate humanity. Speaking at the inauguration of the Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026 at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Thursday (November 5), he emphasized that technology should serve people, not the other way around. He stated that if AI establishes control over humans, the entire civilization will plunge into a deep crisis.

The President noted that the world stands on the brink of a massive transformation driven by AI. He explained that this technology will determine the future of Bangladesh across various sectors, including agriculture, education, healthcare, and commerce. However, acknowledging unemployment as one of the country's primary challenges, he stressed that AI must not worsen the job market crisis. Instead, it must be utilized to increase production, modernize industries, and create dignified employment for millions of youths while upholding human values.

Calling the youth the primary soldiers of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, he urged the business community to view AI not merely as a cost-cutting tool, but as a catalyst for inventing new products and generating new employment opportunities. The President expressed optimism that if the public and private sectors, researchers, and the younger generation work together, the dream of transforming Bangladesh into a trillion-dollar economy will become a reality.
